Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Montessori Method?
The Montessori Method is a world renowned, child-centered education system. Through the use of specialized educational materials, multi-age groupings, and a balance of freedom with responsibility each child is able to reach his potential with confidence and independence. Character development is essential to the success of the method which makes Montessori highly compatible with an Islamic education.
How is Arabic taught?
Arabic is taught as a second language with emphasis on vocabulary development and print recognition. The Arabic materials follow a sequence which corresponds closely to how children learn their native language between the ages of 3 and 6.
What is the Islamic education provided at the preschool?
It is our belief that Islam is a comprehensive system, and its education should reflect its encompassing nature to the children. The emphasis at the preschool age is the love for Allah and His Prophet. Their Islamic identity is fostered through individual activities that provide an insight into who Muslims are and what they do. Children are also introduced to the attributes of Allah and the noble characteristics of the prophets through stories and examples. Children learn to memorize some of the verses of the Qur'an in context of the lessons or stories they entail.
